Guest review: welcome to paradise island

By Kirsi Liikkanen
As I arrived after a nice ferryboat trip to the paradise island of Vis, taxi was already waiting and brought us to the villa where yoga teacher Vanessa was welcoming us and started pampering right away by bringing coffee, croissants, fruits and various other yummy things. That was only the beginning of all culinary joys during the week… oh that food, I really miss Milda’s cookings!! Self-service breakfast was not dry bread left the villa with some butter what I expected and afternoon snacks definitely not a muesli bar for everyone (please don’t laugh). Actually, breakfast included almost everything you could imagine put ready to the stunning outside terrace table facing the sea and afternoon snack was always a superdelicious complete meal. And dinner… that was the best food I had eaten for a long time.

Vanessa’s yoga was just great and there was suitable amount of that: 45 minutes of normal flow yoga and sup yoga of one hour twice a day. Sup boards were inflatable but of really good quality, stable and perfectly clean. Loved that with stunning views, warm weather and nice people around. Even if there was possibility to drive back to the villa with taxi after each SUP yoga class, I always preferred to walk back with some other quests enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
Villa itself was beautiful (much better that in pictures) and location uphill great with stunning views to sea, marina and town of Vis. Walk to the town or marina was always kind of meditative through fairytale-like quiet little paths and atmosphere at the island was relaxed. I can still smell the giant lavender and rosemary bushes all around…

There was enough time during the week to relax and enjoy beach, town of Vis and ice cream bar even if there were plenty of scheduled excursions. Every trip (as well as everything else during the week) was really well organized (BIG thanks to Milda, Mario and Vanessa!) and it was the best and easiest way to get the best out of Vis’s nature wonders without having to spend any time planning yourself. I loved every tour: beaches, blue cave, Vis, Stiniva, Komiza town and tavern dinner.
The retreat was great and really good value for its price. It actually included everything and a small surprise at the end was that even ferry tickets to and from the island were compensated. And when leaving, it was excellent service to get hints for good eating places in Split from Mario  (tuna steak at No Stress was delicious!).
Thank you Kirsi for such amazing words!!! Come back any time!
