The story of Vis

May 9 – 16th. Feel the rich history of Vis island! Explore the paradise during the nature hikes, boat trip to the Blue Cave ans visits to the Vis military bases. Taste the local goodies and immerse yourself into the island life experience.

May 16 – 23rd. What is an island without the sea? The blue healing elements make everyone feel at home and we’re calling you now – come home! Feel the breeze in your hair on the boat tours exploring caves and coves, paddle on the crystal bay take in all the stunning beauty of nature. Don’t forget the local cuisine and daily yoga sessions!

The Retreat includes

6 x yoga classes (including a yoga session at the beach)

3 cave’s boat tour
Stiniva beach boat tour
2 x SUP (stand up paddleboard) sessions

Vis island

The island of Vis is one of the most further, isolated and mysterious Croatian islands.
The island charms with its natural beauties – rugged coast around the island, dotted with gorgeous coves and caves. As well as a couple of sand beaches, crystal clear sea, surrounding islets and a spectacular green inland. Vis produces some of Croatia’s best-known wines – vugava (white) in particular – and you’ll see miles of vineyards across the island. You’ll also taste some of the freshest seafood. Yoga & meditation

Yoga and meditation classes at the retreats are a mix of hatha and vinyasa flow and use breathing techniques such as Pranayama in the classes. Each session has time devoted to meditation, self-awareness and consciousness. We will also offer a yin yoga class during the week.

The Accomodation

We accommodate our guests in a beautiful Vis town villa that is located uphill from the town’s bay and only 5-minute walk from the center and 10-minute walk from the beach. With an amazing view to the town and the Vis bay as well as a pool and large terraces the villa is a great place for this active yoga holiday. Each room has its own bathroom and air conditioning.

Food

At the Balance yoga retreat in Croatia we provide vegetarian meals – a rich breakfast buffet and dinner cooked at the villa. All of our food is vegetarian, vegan or raw, we use a lot of locally grown seasonal fruit, vegetables, spices and herbs. As well locally produced olive oil, cheeses and other goodies. We accommodate gluten-free and vegan guests!

Tours and excursions. Being born in Split it was a mater of time when will he start showing interest in history and travel since Split has always been filled with travelers (and their interesting stories!) from all over the world. After graduating history courses Mario became a licensed official tour guide , so he will keep you amused during all our excursions on Vis.  “In my free time I am a little bit of a sports geek – I enjoy playing football and running (but not too much of it), I also recently discovered stand up paddling and am addicted to it now. Apart from sports, I simply love to travel (but who doesn’t) …whether it’s a trip to a local island in Croatia, a weekend road trip, or a bigger trip abroad, I love it all! And yes, my grandpa has a little vineyard and an olive orchard. I am trying to learn the tricks of the trade so that I can carry on our family tradition of wine and olive oil making.”

Milda Urban

Yoga and food. Milda is a former journalist has worked almost 10 years in health, fitness and lifestyle magazines writing articles and features on these topics. She has also worked as a business reporter and in a few international business social responsibility projects, focusing on encouraging green business. After that Milda has changed her career path to tourism and now works as event and active travel organizer. What better work can you find for an absolute travel junkie?! Her love of healthy lifestyle, yoga and the outdoors has brought her to the perfect job – organizing yoga and adventure retreats where she shares her passions with all the guests. She is a vegetarian and vegan chef and as well as a yoga teacher.

Additional activities 

In addition to the included tours we also invite our guests to join us for a special meal at the local traditional tavern. We also recommend extra activities such as renting a bike, a scooter etc.
